New Zealand

Journey Through Middle Earth

New Zealand is still one of our favourite places to go and the North Island is just as good as its neighbouring South Island. It still has some breathtaking beautiful landscape, including active volcanoes, lakes and mountains. It is also home to some quirky cities like Auckland who just love a good pun! There is literally something for everyone here; including the adrenaline junkies, the foodies and the nature lovers. However for us we believe the North Island is most famous for a village in the shire called Hobbiton. Don't worry you don't need to be a superfan or speak elvish to enjoy walking around the set of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. We only had a week here and could have easily spent another month or two without seeing everything we would want to but below are just some of our highlights this island has to offer. Also check out our one week itinerary for the island and see where we decided to head to.
